Beauty Plus Power is the largest online directory of plus size clothing options for women who wear a size 12 and larger. We have over 600 listings in more than 15 categories, from the most well known chain stores to the most obscure e-tailers.
This site was founded by Lisa Alpern in the summer of 2003 in order to help full figured women like herself find the clothing they want and need in their size. Beauty Plus Power is not just for plus size clothing; many of the sites we list carry clothing for women who wear a straight size 12 or even smaller. We picked our main size range (12-24) because of the overwhelming number of women in this country who wear those sizes. Lisa also knows personally that people in this size range have a hard time trying to find fashionable clothes to fit their voluptuous bodies.

In addition to the website, Beauty Plus Power has also started promoting shopping events around the country to introduce plus size women to the latest designer plus fashions. Our newest project is LUSCIOUS - "Women with Curves", a 2007 Calendar featuring beautiful plus size models. Produced by Beauty Plus Power and shot by Leslie Delano, LUSCIOUS is the first plus size model calendar ever to be sold on Calendars.com. It will also appear in selected stores around the country.
The Beauty Plus Power staff hopes that you will use the directory we have created for you. It was a labor of love to build this database; it took thousands of hours of research and we find new sites on a daily basis. Supporting the stores you like will help them to fund their efforts to make us better clothes. It will also show the rest of the retail business how much money we can bring to the table, and maybe they will want to start dressing us too.
40 percent of women in this country wear a size 12 or larger. This amounts to over 65 MILLION American women. Yet we were only responsible for 25% of this country's overall women's clothing purchases. That does amount to more than 24 billion dollars spent on full figured clothing, but imagine how much more we could spend if there was more clothing, especially stylish clothing, available for us!
